Part of the Friendly Garden Club’s mission is to promote and encourage gardening throughout the city. We do this, in part, through our many civic projects.
The clubs plants and maintains the garden and planters in the public access way garden, overlooking Beverly Harbor.
Beverly Council on Aging
Club members plant and maintain flowers at the entrance to the building.
Club members decorate for the annual Historic Beverly Society Thanksgiving fundraiser.
Ledgewood Nursing Home
Club members plan, assist with, and donate materials for hands-on flower therapy, making floral arrangements for the residence several times a year.
Landman Memorial Garden at Beverly Public Library
This garden on the side entrance of the library is planted in memorial of club members and lovingly maintained by current members.
Beverly Public Library
Each week one of the club members donates flowers for the main circulation desk of the library.
In partnership with The Trustees of Reservations we sponsor “Afternoons in the Children’s Garden”.
The planters in front of City Hall and the Veteran’s Memorial to the side of City Hall are both planted and maintained by the Friendly Garden Club
Each year the Friendly Garden Club of Beverly provides a scholarship to a Beverly student pursuing further education in Earth Science, Horticulture, or Landscape Design.
Seasonal wreaths are donated by the club to various historic Beverly homes, and properties.
